Mastiii 4 (2025) Movie ft. Riteish, Aftab, and Vivek

The Masti series returns after a nine-year gap with its fourth chapter. Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani reprise their roles as the comedy trio. Director Milap Milan Zaveri helms this adult comedy featuring Elnaaz Norouzi, Ruhi Singh, and special guests including Arshad Warsi and Genelia Deshmukh. The film released on November 21, 2025, attempting to recapture past glory.

Three married friends in the UK grow tired of their routine lives. After catching their buddy Kamraj with multiple women, they seek similar freedom. Their wives grant them a Love Visa – one week to explore outside marriage.

The Plot Feels Familiar

The setup leads to expected chaos and confusion. I found myself predicting every turn because the story follows familiar patterns. The film essentially rehashes ideas from earlier movies without adding fresh perspective. Even characters in the climax admit it feels like watching part one again.

Riteish Deshmukh brings sincere effort and decent comic timing. His performance stands out as one of the few consistently watchable elements. Vivek Oberoi delivers energetic work though occasionally overdoes it. Aftab Shivdasani manages adequately despite limited material.

Cast Does What They Can

The trio’s natural chemistry remains intact. When they interact without forced jokes, you see glimpses of what made this franchise work originally. The female leads unfortunately get barely any scope. Elnaaz Norouzi, Ruhi Singh, and Shreya Sharma play one-dimensional wives.

Arshad Warsi and Nargis Fakhri appear briefly but contribute little substance. Tusshar Kapoor’s character irritates more than amuses. Genelia Deshmukh’s small appearance provides the only genuine nostalgic moment worth remembering.

Technical Quality Stays Strong

Cinematography by Sanket Shah gives the film a polished, contemporary look. Production design appears rich and well-executed. Costumes suit the characters and setting nicely. The opening credits show creativity and build anticipation.

Some jokes actually land when relying on actor timing rather than crude writing. The pacing keeps things moving without dragging. For purely mindless viewing, a few scattered moments provide light entertainment.

Writing Lets Everything Down

The script is genuinely weak. Most humor falls completely flat and feels stuck in an earlier era. I spotted one line directly lifted from Main Tera Hero, which raises serious questions about creative effort. Many jokes rely on obvious double meanings that stopped being funny years ago.

Despite having an A certificate, constant censoring creates awkward interruptions. One toilet humor scene in the pre-climax crosses into truly tasteless territory. The writing treats female characters as mere props or punchlines with zero depth.

The predictable twist copies the original Masti film’s climax almost exactly. This lack of originality becomes the film’s fatal flaw. At over two hours, the runtime feels unnecessarily stretched for such thin content.

Songs leave no impression except maybe the title track. Pakad Pakad and One In Crore disappear from memory immediately. Background music does basic work without elevating any scene. Technical aspects like VFX quality also disappoint.

Mixed Reactions Pour In

Bollywood Hungama gave it 2/5 stars, noting only occasional laughs amid recycled humor. Another publication rated it 0.5/5, calling it outdated and joyless. Koimoi showed slightly more generosity for fans of the genre.

Social media reactions split sharply. Some viewers enjoyed it purely for nostalgia and rated it highly. However, most called it a cringefest lacking genuine humor. The Love Visa premise drew particular criticism for being problematic.

Early overseas reports stayed mostly negative. Advance bookings remained weak throughout. While hardcore fans showed some support, general audiences rejected it firmly.

My Take on This Sequel

I genuinely wanted this to work. Seeing the trio reunite should have been fun. Instead, the film feels exhausted and uninspired from the start.

The fundamental issue is simple – the jokes don’t work anymore. What passed for comedy in 2004 feels dated and lazy in 2025. The film mistakes crudeness for actual wit. The predictable story and weak character work make everything worse.

Riteish, Vivek, and Aftab clearly tried their best. Their comfort with each other shows in certain moments. But strong chemistry cannot rescue a broken script. The film neither matches the original’s charm nor offers anything new.

Hardcore fans completing the series might find scattered enjoyment. Everyone else should skip this without hesitation. Better comedy options exist everywhere.
